The impairment neighborhood experiences a high rate of sexual attack yet is typically left out from discussions about this problem. This is a dominating obstacle for marginalized neighborhoods in basic, and one that extremely leads to insufficient services to those who are typically most at threat for sexual violence and who deal with the best challenges to accessing services. Comprehending how misconceptions about people with impairments add to greater rates of victimization is simply the initial step in overthrowing the numerous barriers that the handicapped neighborhood confronts with concerns to sexual violence services. This panel addresses ableism, intersectionality, obstacles in reporting, and how preconceptions around impairment add to rape culture. Our panelists represent a variety of proficiency and lived experiences to provide an abundant discussion about the requirement to reverse stereotypes and promote synergistic and relational designs of care that promote firm and self-empowerment.
